When you ask people what keeps them from being successful, most will blame the government, the economy, their families, or the ‘‘isms’’ of life (sexism, racism, ageism, etc.). But the one thing most people avoid in their list is themselves. Believe it or not, we are the main obstacles to our success in life. Instead of wallowing in self-pity, we must make things happen.
An old African proverb states, ‘‘If you can overcome the enemy on the inside, the enemy on the outside can do you no harm!’’ We must be brutally honest with ourselves and come to the realization that we are the biggest challenge to our own success.
If you want to win, you must stop letting things happen and start making things happen. Today, make a commitment to overcome yourself, so you can reach your goals
